Why We Don’t Belong

As a benefit to our patients, we have not signed “managed care” contracts with insurance carriers. Signing those contracts would allow you to receive discounted first visit fees, and established patient office visits at a slightly lower cost [like $6-$11 in 2007; even less in 2008 as co-payments rise] than our cash price of $36. For that discount however there are enormous trade-offs you must make. Here are some of them: workout

1] When seeing an in network chiropractic provider you do not get to decide when, how often, or how many times you can come in. Instead, this is decided by someone who has never seen or even talked to you, has never examined or reviewed your X-rays, may not be a chiropractor, and if they are, probably have little practice experience.

2] Just like losing weight, getting in shape at a gym, or working with a physical therapist, getting well is a process rather than an event, and one session builds upon the ones before. But that only works if the sessions are close enough in proximity. Just as going to the gym once in a while doesn’t do much to improve fitness, the same is true for chiropractic. But managed care administrators only allow treatment schedules that minimize their costs. Their profit motive always takes priority over an optimum treatment schedule.

3] An increasing number of people not only want relief, they want to rehabilitate their problem spine so they are less likely to experience a relapse. They want to feel their best and use chiropractic as part of their health maintenance routine. Insurance only pays for acute or crisis care and will not pay for rehabilitation or maintenance care.

Paperwork4] The massive amounts of paperwork associated with getting permission for care takes my focus off of my primary mission of helping our patients get well and stay well.
Your health is your most valuable possession. A chiropractor can’t effectively serve two masters; you the patient and the insurance company. Simply put, I choose to serve your needs rather than the profit motives of an insurance carrier.

If you see the value of working with this area’s most experienced chiropractor, who will truly recommend what is best for you and your health, please call so that we may serve your needs as only an independent chiropractor can do.

How do chiropractors help ADHD?
There is agreement that ADHD is a nervous system disorder. And while chiropractic isn't a treatment for ADHD, if your child has subluxations, resolving them will often produce profound results.
